The hotel's beginnings

Built in 1836, this ancestral house, well located on rue Saint-Jean-Baptiste, in the heart of downtown Baie-Saint-Paul, was transformed into a hotel in the 1970s. As soon as it opened its doors, the establishment became one of the best-rated in the region and continues to contribute to the development of the tourism industry in the Charlevoix region. During the 1980s, the hotel underwent an expansion, which meant that 35 rooms would then be distributed among the four buildings that make up Maison Otis.

Over the years, further renovations have been completed throughout the complex, including the addition of a meeting room, spa, restaurant, bar and performance hall. These renovations contribute to the hotel’s outstanding amenities. Two other businesses that wanted to join the Maison Otis premises remain a part of its facilities today: the Café des Artistes and the chocolate shop.
